This is a full time temporary position (40 hours/week) from October through December 31, 2013. This position will provide support for the Holiday Fundraising Program. EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE: A high school diploma or equivalent and relevant work experience is required. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: • Must be self-motivated and work with a minimum of supervision. • Must be able to work with diverse population and to maintain confidentiality with personal information. • Must have excellent interpersonal skills, with emphasis on effectively working in a team environment. • Must have the ability to safely perform physical aspects of the job, including lifting up to 30 pounds. • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and a valid Washington driver license. • Must have the ability to work in a fast paced environment and under the pressure of deadlines as required for payroll and hiring. SOFTWARE-RELATED SKILLS: • Must be proficient in typing, data entry, organizing and filing. • Must exhibit a working knowledge of Excel & Access programs and data entry. • Must have a working knowledge or be able to learn Lotus Notes and aptitude and ability to learn related technical skills. SCOPE OF POSITION: This position will provide support for the Holiday Fundraising Program. The data entry of all kettle information will be the primary function of this position, as well as other support duties assigned. Such support duties will require a basic knowledge of accounting and proficiency in record keeping and data entry. The position will be responsible for all record keeping and must be able to meet requirements of internal control policies and procedures for the Holiday Fundraising Program. This position will require the ability to work in a fast paced environment and be able to meet deadlines. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Responsible for the preparation of kettle worker hiring paperwork to be passed out to prospective kettle workers. 2. Responsible for kettle worker data entered into the Red Kettle database upon hire. 3. Fully responsible for the bell ringer scheduling process. 4. Responsible for the daily time card data entry into the Red Kettle database in a timely manner to meet deadlines. 5. Responsible for the daily deposit slip data entry and filing of those forms. 6. Must have a pleasant speaking voice and able to answer phones as well as contact vendors as assigned by the Kettle Coordinator or Corps Officer. 7. Must be available for emergency kettle worker transportation as needed. 8. Assist with written & oral communication with kettle workers, the public and donors as needed. 9. Assist in contacting individuals and/or companies to assist with our holiday fundraising campaign. 10. Assist the Kettle Coordinator and other staff with other duties as assigned, including filing, copying, scanning, etc. 11. Assist in supervision of drivers and kettle workers during the swing shift. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis. • Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, automobile doors, and reach overhead. • Ability to lift and carry 30 pounds on a regular basis (example: moving boxes of files, paper, etc.).
