Position Title: Site Director - Licensed Child Care Center Harmonium Mission: To promote well-being and self-sufficiency in children, youth, and adults through creative education, intervention, and prevention services rooted in collaboration with neighborhoods and families. Status: Non-Exempt Division: Children's Program Department: Licensed Hours: Full time 40 hours per week, required split shifts Salary: $14.00 per hour Benefits: $150 monthly towards health premium OR $100 monthly towards dental/vision/chiropractic/voluntary with remaining dollars placed into HRA; retirement plan match maximum 2% of annual salary (403b); 9.33 vacation hours per month and 12.25 hours per month after three years, 7 sick hours per month Reports to: Program Coordinator Direct Report: Site Staff Org Level: Work in progress Career Level: Work in progress EEO Job Category: Service Worker Description: This position is responsible for overall management and administration of the site and is mandated to take all the steps necessary to insure the safety, security and well-being of each child enrolled in the program Essential Functions: Communication: − Develop and maintain positive, professional relationships with school site, parents, children and Harmonium staff − Perform public relations and training duties through oral presentations Agency Leadership: − No responsibility and leadership required for service development, but may be required to comment on Harmonium and program policies and procedures Job Complexity: − Develop an ongoing parent advisory/support group − Work shifts in compliance with CCL regulations - Center Director must be on the premises during the hours of operation and shall not accept outside employment that interferes with the duties specified − Prepare monthly billing and payroll summary forms − Monitor the site budget to ensure the fiscal sustainability of the program − Develop programs to provide a diverse creative mix of sports, recreation, arts and crafts, enrichment, educational (homework), and special activities that are age and interest appropriate − Maintain the physical facility including janitorial or custodial duties Accountability: − Ensure that all children are being visually supervised at all times and are safe from physical/verbal abuse, exploitation and prejudice (Personal Rights LIC 613A) − Monitor site requirements all the time Decision Making: − Analyze and maintain ratios within licensing and Title 22 regulations while scheduling and assigning the staff Staff Supervision: − Responsible for supervising, training, directing and evaluating child care center staff Minimum Competencies: − Must be 18 years of age − 15 semester units at an accredited college plus 4 years of teaching, AA degree with a major in child development plus 2 years of teaching experience or BA degree in Child Development plus 1 year of teaching. All education must include 3 units in administration or staff relations and 12 units in early education, child, growth & development, recreation, humanities, or education − Meet Community Care Licensing Directors Qualifications, Section 101515 − Must be CPR and First Aid certified − Minimum 2 years administration experience in a licensed or comparable group child care program, with a working knowledge of staff coaching and supervision, public relation, marketing and fiscal management − Specific in-depth knowledge in child development, counseling and education − Evidence of planning and organizational skills − Essential skills in the area of sports, games, crafts, special interests and/or hobbies − Excellent presentation and communication skills − Effective written skills − Reliable automobile, valid CA Driver's license and maintain proof of current automobile insurance − Ability to pass TB and Fingerprint Clearance upon hire Physical Requirement: − Occasional standing, walking, kneeling, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, reaching above, and below the shoulder − Ability to lift and carry up to 20-50 pounds − High energy needed with the ability to balance multiple high-stress tasks − Ability to work in a noisy and outdoors environment − Occasional travel in San Diego County − Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions Disclaimer: − Harmonium, Inc. is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. − The employee is required is adhere to all Harmonium policies while employed − The preceding description is ONLY a general description of essential duties and not designed to be a complete list of all duties and responsibilities required of this position − Job description is subject to change at any time.
