Structure: Basic exercises and sequences of a ballet barre done to upbeat, contemporary music. Emphasis is on good alignment and body usage, core support, and balance. BENEFITS: The ballet barre workout improves overall body fitness and appearance and builds a strong foundation for any movement or activity. The systematic design of the class assures a safe, thorough warm-up and balanced development of strength and flexibility in the feet, legs, hips, and back. Many women in their 40s, 50s, and 60s who danced when they were younger have become dedicated students.
