QUALIFICATIONS: BA degree in Marketing, Communications or Business Administration; or equivalent in experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of three years business experience, non-profit experience helpful. 3-5 years sales, public relations, marketing, or public affairs experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office with ability to learn additional software as appropriate. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills required (including public speaking). Demonstrated organizational and project management skills in a fast paced environment; ability to manage details of multiple and complex projects within deadlines. Ability to plan, initiate, market, and evaluate donor relations campaigns. Must be able to travel as required. Current valid driver's license. Ability to track on multiple tasks efficiently, completing each in a professional and timely fashion. Ability to strategically define priorities and execute tactically with great efficiency. Self directed team player who is willing to help on any and all projects as necessary. Demonstrated ability to lead and participate effectively in cross-functional teams. Professional judgment and integrity in handling confidential material. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and other office equipment. Ability to communicate clearly on the telephone. Ability to lift up to 30 obs. Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks. Ability to drive long distances on a regular basis. The Donations Manager is responsible for promoting The Salvation Army to the communities in which it operates. To secure in-kind gift donations and donation sites. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Proactively searches out opportunities and develops an efficient and effective network of attended Certified Donation Centers (CDC) that yield high quality donations. 2. Develops contacts for complimentary or invoiced space for CDC sites, vehicle donations and other product acquisitions. 3. Works closely with the Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) Managers to promote donation drives. 4. Actively solicits donor sources for donation drives, financial contributions as directed by Administrator, and other in-kind gifts. 5. Works with Center personnel to develop strategies to increase donations to the Stores and Centers. 6. Place one (1) new CDC and twenty (10) Drop Boxes within the first 90 days of employment and form 3 viable community partnerships for donation acquisition. Place a total of six (2) new CDCs and 16 Drop Boxes within the first year of employment. 7. Plans, directs, and implements all aspects of placing a CDC. 8. Donation Manager will work with the Production/Transportation Manage for efficient and dependable transport of CDC to new location. 9. Responsible for the CDC's donations, collections and overall operations meeting safety, security and compliance standards including that their staff have implemented the safety and security procedures of The Salvation Army. 10. Compiles and develops reports and information as requested by Administrator. Also analyzes results achieved and make recommendations where appropriate. 11. Establish partnership and/or sponsorships with corporations to promote The Salvation Army and donation needs. 12. Must be prepared for a Center Review and maintain review standards at all times. 13. Other written and verbal duties as may be assigned by the Administrator or his designate
