Electrical Commercial Industrial Construction Cost Estimator Reply to Position requires Associates degree in electrical technology or at least 3 years field experience and some experience estimating electrical construction costs. Key Tasks--- Determine scope of work from contractual documents. Verify project budget and man-hours for their work task. Conduct quantity survey and prepare detailed material take-off from engineering drawings and specifications. Prepare complete cost estimates for material, labors, equipment, contractor's markup, contingency and estimate summary. Review, evaluate change order proposals, and participate in the negotiation with contractor and owner. Obtain vendor quotations for material, equipment, testing, training, etc. Assist in constructability review of engineering drawings and specifications. Review cost estimates prior to submittal to see that all estimates will be at the highest professional standard. Requires--- Proficiency in the preparation of cost estimates using Computer Based and Excel spreadsheets, standard estimating software and other standard computer software. Basic knowledge of electrical construction and methods. Salary will be based on past experience and abilities.
