Reply to: [?] Date: 07-22-2013 Adams County Youth Advocate Program is currently hiring MALE part-time youth/family advocates, bilingual a plus. While YAP hires males and females, we match male clients to male Advocates and currently only need MALE advocates. MUST BE AVAILABLE MOST EVENINGS AND WEEKENDS. YAP's mission is to keep at-risk youth out of institutions and maximize the odds that they will have healthy and productive futures using the support of their family and community members. YAP has over 139 programs serving 12,000 youth and families per year across 18 states. The primary responsibilities of an Advocate are to implement and assist in the planning and developing of direct advocacy services to clients and their families with the support of the Director and Staff. This includes but is not limited to assisting with tutoring; ensuring school attendance; developing job skills; connecting families to community resources; broadening the horizons of youth by exposing them to the cultural and educational resources within their communities. Advocates work flexible schedules including days, evenings and weekends. Pay begins at $12 an hour and increases dependent on group time and caseloads. We provide excellent paid training. Qualifications: Prefer applicants in Adams County, high school diploma, valid driver's license, excellent driving record, auto insurance 100/300 and access to a safe, dependable vehicle, appropriate state and federal background checks.
