Essential Duties and Responsibilities: -Assists residents with: daily bath, dressing, grooming, dental care, and bowel and bladder functions; preparation for medical tests and exams; ear and eye care; and transferring into and out of beds, chairs, bathtubs, etc. -Provides nursing functions as directed by supervisor, including daily perineal care and catheter care; change dressings; turn residents in bed; gives sponge baths; measures and records temperature, pulse, and respirations; weighs and measures residents; performs restorative and rehabilitative procedures; observes and reports presence of skin breakdowns; reviews care plans daily; reports changes in resident conditions to supervisor; records all necessary charting entries; and reports all accidents and incidents. -Prepares residents for meals and snacks; identifies food arrangement, and assists in feeding residents as needed; records food and fluid intake; and performs after-meal resident care. -Assist as directed in proper admission, transfer, and discharge of residents; inventories residents' possessions and reports food articles and medications found in residents' rooms; and reports defective equipment to administration. -Understands and uses Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Standard Precautions, OSHA's Occupational Exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens standard, and follows established infection control, hazardous communication, and other safety rules; ensures cleanliness of assigned residents' rooms; properly maintains and records residents' restraints; and promptly reports all violations of safety and sanitation rules to supervisor. -Direct and indirect involvement in the marketing of the facility. -Attends and participates in orientation, training, educational activities, and staff meetings. -Other duties as assigned. Graduate of a state approved nursing assistant training program and passed a state approved competency examination (written and skills) within 120 days of employment and/or name entered into state nurse aide registry.
