About the Position: On a temporary or seasonal basis only, the visitor services/Quagga will provide routine public contact work, responds to questions from the public on State Park rules and regulations and maintains State Park facilities in a clean and orderly fashion, and to do other related work.

Typical Tasks: The Visitor Services/Quagga Park Aide is responsible for the following typical tasks: Quagga Mussel inspection and education program, fee collection, campground registration, visitor information, revenue reporting, money accountability, attendance documentation, traffic control, interpretation and education, phones, radios, housekeeping and light cleaning, reporting of visitor emergencies, and keeps State Park facilities, restrooms and equipment clean and orderly.

Knowledge and Abilities: Ability to: Communicate at a level required for successful job performance; follow directions; compute fees, make change, and balance cash; learn work procedures and park rules and regulations quickly; perform varied manual tasks; meet the public successfully.

Working Conditions: Willingness to: Work on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, at odd or irregular hours, and under adverse weather conditions; perform varied manual tasks; interact with public and able to work with other employees; and conform to departmental uniform requirements.

Call the front entrance at (760) 389-2303 for questions. Winter hours for the park are currently Friday - Tuesday, 7am to 7pm. Beginning May 1st, Summer hours will be 7 days a week, 6am to 9pm.

Requirement: Position requires handling money and successful candidates must have approved health questionnaires, a valid California Driver's License and will be required to undergo background checks and pass live scan.

Training will be provided for these listed job responsibilities.
