Director of Attorney Recruiting

Renown International Law Firm has immediate opening for a Director of Attorney Recruiting responsible for all aspects of legal recruiting across multiple offices, involving summer associates, law clerks, fall associates, lateral hires, LLMs, staff attorneys, contract attorneys, and economists. Will also coordinate with the Managing Director, Hiring Partner, Managing Partner and Practice Group Leaders, in concert with the strategic growth plans for the Firm. This position can be located in any of the Firm's US offices and will report directly to the Managing Director for Talent Development. Position Overview:

-Formulate, administer, and maintain recruiting policies, procedures, and practices consistent with Firm goals
-Collaborate with the Director of Diversity and Inclusion to implement firm-wide diversity initiatives
-Work with practice group leaders to develop and implement recruiting strategies and searches
-Hire staff for the attorney recruiting department
-Oversee summer associate and on-campus recruiting programs and work with the firm-wide Hiring Partner to determine summer associate and new associate capacity
-Handle the lateral associate offer process, including offer letter language, uniformity, due diligence, and liability issues
-Propose compensation and other offer terms for attorney candidates
-Manage firm-wide lateral partner recruiting efforts by developing and implementing strategies to source, recruit, and hire lateral partner candidates
-Develop and implement interviewing techniques for all levels of attorney recruiting
-Oversee attorney orientation and firm-wide retention programs
-Manage firm-wide recruiting information sharing systems by guiding and managing the implementation of new technology, software programs, and more efficient processes
-Develop and manage the annual recruiting budget
-Provide guidance on market analysis trends (associate compensation, benefit surveys, competitiveness of benefits)
-Develop and analyze reports and projections regarding diversity, recruiting, and retention market trends
-Establish and maintain strong working relationships with various departments including IT, Finance, Human Resources, Client
-Development, and Practice Management
-Develop and maintain relationships with law schools, search firms, and industry organizations
-Develop and manage collateral recruiting materials, including development and updating of external website and printed materials
-Ensure compliance with legal requirements and rules of professional responsibility affecting recruiting policies and procedures


-The ideal candidate will possess Bachelor's degree along with a JD or advanced degree, and a minimum of 7 to 10 years experience in attorney recruiting and/or professional services recruiting in a global/international firm, with a strong understanding of employment law and industry trends
-Must have an excellent command of business measures and attorney recruiting best practices, and detailed knowledge of NALP Principles & Standards, LawCruit tracking and reporting systems, and other related technologies including but not limited to MS Word and Excel
-Successful skills as department manager and leader, and proven supervisory experience with international teams
-Team-oriented, with excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and analytical skills, as well as detail/results oriented
-Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
-Excellent oral and written communication skills
-Ability to work in a fast paced environment, creative thinking, and manage confidential information in a professional manner
-Handle difficult situations professionally and constructively
-Knowledge and understanding of US Visa process and requirements, employment standards, and wage/hour laws
-Travel, video conferencing between offices as needed
-Must be willing to travel and work extended hours
