Job Opportunity: Machine Automation Support Engineer Entry Level
Makino, a world leader in metal cutting and manufacturing technology, is seeking a Machine Automation Support Engineer for our Mason, OH location. The Machine Automation Support Engineer is responsible for the installation of the Makino automated systems servicing Makino machining centers and other ancillary equipment. The engineer will be responsible for the proper installation and startup of these systems at the customer location. This is an entry level role, with extensive training to ensure your success. This role is responsible for: Installing, debugging and supporting Makino developed and standard automated machining systems at Makino Mason and at customer locations. This includes mechanical and electrical installation of robots, robot grippers, cell controllers, interconnection cabling, safety fencing, conveyors, etc., as well as the preparation of the site for the equipment. Installing, debugging and supporting Makino supplied 3rd party developed integrated solutions. Programming/teaching robots to service the Makino machining centers and ancillary equipment during the installation of the automated systems. Making suggestions for changes and improvements as may be needed through field service activities and observations. Performing testing and debugging of new and revised versions of machine/automation control software at Makino Mason and at customer locations.
Qualified Candidates should be a team player and a self-starter, and have: Associates degree in Engineering Technology or the equivalent Mechanical and electrical controls aptitude. Able to read and understand mechanical and electrical engineering drawings for proper installation of systems and equipment. Automotive experience is preferred. Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. Ability to learn to program robotic automation. Ability to communicate with engineering resources to resolve installation and startup issues. Able to utilize MS Office products such as Word, Excel, etc. Effective verbal and written communications skills. Willingness to travel potentially 75 90%, primarily to customer locations.
