Roles and Responsibilities:
the ideal candidate is process engineer who provides manufacturing with technical support, process expertise, formal training, communication, and insures the outmost attention and compliance to customer outputs (specifications), process inputs (internal process specifications) operating standards, manufacturing initiatives (lean concepts) and safety/environmental requirements. This position requires the individual to abide to a flexible working schedule and be able to work extra hours (including weekends and some holidays).

The Process/Industrial Engineer position involves:
• Developing and managing major projects related to new products, equipment, and systems for products.
• Maintaining professional relationships with both internal and external customers, sales, marketing, vendors and suppliers.
• Working with the Engineering Center to develop and design new products, processes, and equipment.
• Reducing scrap in assigned areas and implementing corrective actions.
• Training machine operators on new equipment and processes.
1. Maintains safety, product quality, and manufacturing effectiveness through daily troubleshooting and resolution of process difficulties.
2. Optimizes manufacturing processes to provide sustainable gains in cost effectiveness and product performance through capital projects, statistical analysis, designed experiments, and procedural changes.
3. Works with customers to resolve technical/quality issues and provide special products.
4. Participates in multi-functional teams (industrial staff, R&D, Marketing) to resolve problems and develop new products. Leads where appropriate.
5. Starts-up new products and equipment (supervises installation, troubleshoots initial production, ensures new processes and products meet requirements, documents and transfers to Production).
6. Supervises engineering assistants and industrial staff as needed.

Some Specific Duties
• Learn and master Wire Drawing, Bobbin Winding, Stranding, Respooling, Plating and Rod breakdown processes and techniques
• Standardize Manufacturing Process by implementing DOE, CAPAS, Cpk, SPC
• Minimize Scrap through Process Mapping, PFMEA’s,
• Improve Production by utilizing SPEEDS KILLS initiative
• Eliminate Non-conformances (ZERO DEFECTS)
• Maintain all testing equipment under calibration
• Monitor Drawing Solutions on a daily basis
• Develop and Maintain SOP’s applicable to process requirements
• Assist Quality Control inspectors as needed
• Process RMA
• Conductor Internal Audits
• Participate in daily production meetings
• Maintain Quality and Engineering documents and records
• File completed production and test reports
• Clean QC testing areas on a daily basis
• Troubleshoot production and quality issues
• Generate Corrective Actions
• Perform Gage R&R studies

• Bachelors Degree in a technical field (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic and or Industrial Engineering).
• Minimum of 3 - 5 years of manufacturing experience
• Wire extrusion process experience
• Experience using copper, metals, plastics, and continuous vulcanization
• Experience with plastic extrusion and molding
• Wire and Cable manufacturing experience preferred
• Lean experience and/or certification preferred
