Generator Product Manager • $85K-$105k Richmond, Virginia

This position has the future potential of becoming a department leader. We typically offer internal promotions within two years based on the candidate. Right now, you will be responsible for supporting the Business Development Managers and Customer Service Managers for new business. You will meet with customers, make presentations, attend project meetings and act as the primary contact for projects. You will work with all departments to prepare the scope of work and cost estimates for prospective projects.
This leadership position also monitors actual job performance, updating product costs for future projects. Additionally, you will work on product-improvement projects in the development of new products and services.
The ideal candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing or Marine Engineering with at least three years of experience in turbine and generator rotating and stationary equipment. The ability to work with minimal supervision is required. Plus you must posses advanced knowledge of disassembly, maintenance, inspection, repair, refurbishment, testing, assembly, NDE, and scheduling methods. Experience in Field Service Engineering also highly desirable.
Additional qualifications include, the ability to work functionally and become the product guru by applying your knowledge of design, function and operation of turbine generators. Proficiency with using Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Lotus Notes, and basic engineering software programs is also required. Strong aptitude in the use of spread sheets, databases and commercial estimating, project planning and ERP systems desired but not required. PE Certification is a plus.
