Our Client Company is a leader in aerospace component repairs. They provide high quality component repair to airlines, military, and land & marine turbine engine operators around the world. They currently have an opportunity for a Flame Spray Technician located in the Mentor, Ohio area with salary dependent on experience and/or education.
Job Description Under general supervision prepare, setup, and process parts for non-destructive tests. Under the guidance of a Certified Level III, evaluate components based on these tests. Methods include fluorescent penetrant inspection, magnetic particle inspection, ultrasonic inspection, eddy current inspection, radiography, and/or pressure test inspections on turbine engine components (civil and military aircraft and aero derivative).
Your Qualifications - Prior to performing any NDT operations, review all components for proper identification, including part number, serial number, identification tag, and paperwork. - Review documentation to ensure that all previous operations have been completed as required. Evaluate parts visually for required cleanliness for the method, if required. - Perform part preparation, including cleaning, blending, and/or etching when required. - Process parts in accordance with requirements of the method. Follow manufacturers’ repair/overhaul manuals or other specifications for the processing of components for NDT. Be able to accurately read, interpret, and apply these instructions. - Work closely with NDT Level III, Engineering, and Quality Engineering to evaluate and interpret indications. - In addition to the required method, perform visual inspection using white light to look for the existence of any indications that may not be located by the particular NDT method used. Record all findings from white light inspections. - Pay special attention to areas that appear to be subject to unusual environmental conditions such as corrosion or operation-induced wear. Develop experience with components and ability to identify such areas on components that are new to company, based on experience with similar components. - Maybe required to perform cleaning operations, blending operations, or other operations that complement NDT. - Train other NDT technicians or trainees. Train other employees on the general concepts of NDT. Be able to explain and communicate clearly to non-NDT personnel the method and the significance of findings.
