Sustainable Buildings Assessor
Location of Work: Assessments will be performed in CO, CA, ID, WA, OR, and other western states.

Do you enjoy travel? Are you experienced in building assessments? Do you want to be a part of the green movement? Are you looking for challenging work to help reduce energy consumption? Are you LEED certified? Then we need you!

We are looking for experienced Building Assessors to help manage existing building systems to reduce the consumption of energy, water, and materials. Candidates will also identify alternatives to renovation that reduce existing assets' deferred maintenance costs. This is an intermittent project requiring candidates to perform physical assessments of existing buildings.

- Provide sustainable building assessments for Department of the Interior (DOI).
- Pursue cost-effective, innovative strategies, such as highly reflective and vegetated roofs, to minimize consumption of energy, water, and materials.

- When adding assets to the agency's real property inventory, identify opportunities to consolidate and dispose of existing assets, optimize the performance of the agency's real-property portfolio, and reduce associated environmental impacts.

- Ensure that rehabilitation of federally owned historic buildings utilizes best practices and technologies in retrofitting to promote long-term viability of the buildings.

- Experience with the U.S. Federal Government’s Guiding Principles for High Performing Green Buildings.
- Must have experience doing physical assessments of buildings.
- Must be LEED AP certified.
- A PE license is not required but is preferred.
- Bachelor degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or in a related field.
- Qualified candidates will reside West of the Mississippi River.
- Must be able and willing to travel (domestic).

Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
