Our client company is one of four boxboard mills in North America. It also owns seven containerboard mills, twenty-seven corrugated products plants and five folding carton plants in the United States, Canada and France. It is the largest containerboard and boxboard producer in Canada and is also a major Canadian manufacturer of corrugated products and folding cartons. Products produced include: Inverlite, Inverfreeze, Inverkote, Invertop, and Inverchip. Our client company currently has an opportunity for a Boxbaord Mill Production Manager Trainee.
Challenge: Reporting to the Assistant Mill Manager you will train to: Coordinate and supervise overall production activities (production planning, raw material supplies, manufacturing, shipping, maintenance planning, etc.) Optimize production while having a constant concern and respect for deadlines, costs, quality, and H&S Respond to customer and market changes while manufacturing the best product for the least cost. Supervise production supervisors, developing best practices, ensuring departmental production and H&S objectives are met. Identify risks and develop corrective actions. Ensure identification and establishment of risk control mechanisms, corrective action and preventative measures, as well as H&S activities (H&S committee, H&S Action Plan, audits etc.)
Qualifications: Knowledge of parameters and particularities of equipment to properly manage the efficiency of the mills operations (equipment, processes, chemicals, material organization, pricing, raw materials, etc.) Familiarity and willingness to master methods of continuous improvement. Willingness to master and apply follow-up methods and interpret quality tests. Knowledge of customers needs, products, market and trends Know H&S rules and regulations, safety procedures, dangers and risk analysis as well as accident investigation process.
