Position Title: Software Engineer - Acoustics - IL

Location: Chicago area (West Suburbs)
Company is a leading global supplier of high performance components for the mobile phone market.
This position will provide software and knowledge management support for the R&D Department. * Develop and maintain existing Matlab code (Project Viewer). * Interface with and guide development of production data acquisition databases. * Develop and improve upon data acquisition and data management for R&D measurement systems. * Develop and maintain a content management system for R&D documents and data. * Will assist R&D engineers in turning modeling, simulation, and data analysis techniques they develop into tools which can be shared among other engineers.
* BS in Engineering, Physics, or Computer Science +5 years experience in relevant field, or MS/PhD with +1 to 3 years experience in relevant field. Job Title and salary will scale with qualifications of successful candidate. * Experience in developing software for a technical user base. * Experience in Electrical Engineering, Acoustics, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related field. * Demonstrated aptitude for quickly learning and applying new programming languages and paradigms is a must. * Experience in Matlab, Spice, Mathematica, Finite Element Analysis software, relational databases, content management systems, and social networking in a technical/business context will be heavily weighted in the candidate's favor. * Must work well with engineers at all levels. * Must be self-motivated and have the drive to find things that need to be fixed and make them better. * Good communication skills, both written and oral, required.
Bottom Line Requirements:
1. BS in Engineering, Physics, or Computer Science (Master's Degree preferred). 2. 5 + years of experience developing software for a technical user base. 3. Experience in Electrical Engineering, Acoustics or related field. 4. Solid experience in Matlab. 5. Experience in Spice, Mathematica, Finite Element Analysis software, relational databases, content management systems, and social networking in a technical/business context preferred
