Company is an international mining and natural resources company.
The Sourcing Analyst will support strategic sourcing initiatives primarily within coal business units. Responsibilities include leading the collection and analysis of data, monitoring commodity market conditions, providing input into sourcing strategies, and developing Total Cost of Ownership models. The position is also responsible for preparation, distribution, collection, and analysis of Request for Proposals (RFP), Request for Information (RFI), e-auction bidding documents, analyzing financial performance of potential and existing vendors, and supporting the negotiation process. Further functions will include monitoring supplier adherence to contracts, estimating the cost savings benefits for sourcing opportunities, and reporting Procurement/Supply Chain performance metrics.
- Support data requests from Sourcing Managers and procurement operations - Responsible for supporting the collection and analysis of data in an efficient and effective manner - Provide input and data analysis on requisition and payment process, spend management and benefits capture to the sourcing managers and procurement management to aid in strategy development - Conduct data analysis to support Internal Profile and Total Cost of Ownership deliverables .. Monitor supplier adherence to contracts - Verify the accuracy of Index related price increases - Recommend items for addition to the ERP catalog so that it covers the regular needs of the business through periodic review of frequently direct charged items
- Investigate savings opportunities on a continual basis, through in depth analysis of category and supplier spend data - Provide expertise in process and systems and contribute to the development and implementation of enterprise-wide procurement processes and systems - Support requisition to payment processes based upon business needs, performance, and strategic objectives - Support development of all PowerPoint, Word and Excel based deliverables in the sourcing process including Internal/External Profiles, Strategy, Total Cost of Ownership, RFx documents, Negotiation Worksheets and Implementation Plans - Demonstrate understanding of commodity dynamics, key products and services, supply base, competitive forces, industry standards and metrics, and key sources of marketplace information for commodity area - Support the development and implement sourcing strategies for a specified commodities - Assess supply market conditions by analyzing the buyer community, supplier community, internal competition, barriers to entry and substitute products. Applies industry analysis in conjunction with knowledge of the commodity to assist in the development of sourcing strategies - Build Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) models / supplier ranking matrix - Develop negotiation strategy worksheets and participate in negotiations - Lead development of fact-based briefs for supplier meetings - Define implementation plans for category - Proactively identify and recommend alternative sources of supply (general supply vs. OEM) to reduce operating costs, lead-times, and support corporate cost savings targets
Supplier Management, Customer Management and Reporting
- Track and update price files in business system - Produce reports supporting the interpretation and analysis of data to make decisions - Develop and track global procurement metrics including areas of spend analytics, benefits capture, requisition to payment process, operational efficiencies, and supplier performance - Support relationships with suppliers for specified commodities - Support relationships with key customers and ensure delivery in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) - Track and report commodity performance metrics - Lead supplier qualification and measurement for commodity - Monitor and forecast material cost impact compared to budget - Analyze supplier metrics, including compliance with performance goals and evaluate suppliers by comparing supplier metrics across similar categories and industry benchmarks - Monitor internal compliance with negotiated contracts through executing/analyzing reports and recommends corrective action - Ensure availability of optimal reporting tools for management and user community to conduct analytical decision-making - Analyzes qualitative and quantitative supplier characteristics, including supplier capabilities, supplier goals and objectives, and suppliers' financial position. Applies analysis to determine viability as a supplier
Education Needed *BS in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management or equivalent required. *MBA or MS preferred. Professional certifications preferred (CPM, CIRM, CPIM) *Experience Needed 3 to 5 years in Sourcing or Procurement required. *Operations/Supplier/Industry knowledge preferred
