Presbyterian Hospitality House, Fairbanks' leading adolescent residential treatment program wants additional treatment team members. We are seeking emotionally healthy individuals with common sense, humor, and the ability to counsel youth, teach social skills, and help them improve academically. A full-time member will implement treatment plans and provide family-style teaching for five teens.
Associate of Arts degree in the Social Sciences or Education and/or two (2) years work experience in the social service field, awareness of Alaskan Native cultural issues, demonstrated ability to function well under stressful conditions. Willingness to accept ongoing professional feedback and training. Additional experience or education may be considered. U.S. citizen or valid work permit. Preference given to individuals with previous Teaching Family training and experience. Valid Alaska drivers license. In addition, prior to hire, all State of Alaska, Licensing requirements must be met.
FUNCTION: To assist Teaching Parents in the general care and treatment of clients. Assists implementing and coordinating the established case plan goals within the daily routine of the home as directed by the Teaching Parents. Uses behavioral approach to treatment demonstrating self-awareness, understanding, strength and stability as a positive role model for youth and their families.
