1401 Hanson Lane, Ramona, California, May 7 2011 - AME presents a classic car show featuring a showcase of auto gems plus a bonus display of motorcycles and tractors. This year’s event also brings to it a craft and art fair of gifted creations by local talent, plus the food, music and live entertainment makes this a fun filled day for everyone to enjoy.
This is AME’s 3rd year of running this Car Show, but this year we have added a craft venue to the event that makes it a great activity for the whole family. Visitors can shop the arts and crafts booths for that unique treasure while enjoying the sounds of great music. The public will also have the opportunity to stroll around some magnificent vehicles and everyone is encouraged to place a vote for their favorite car in categories such as the “Best Chick Magnet”, (award ceremony at 1:00pm will announce the winners). With its wide variety of interests and entertainment, this event comes just in time for a Mothers and Fathers Day get together, let us call it a Parents Day! If you have not visited the beautiful country hillsides of our County lately, this is the day to come join us in the “Valley of the Sun” Ramona. Wake up early, we will have the coffee on at 9:00 am.
This year’s show proceeds benefit the Ramona High School Band and Color Guard, directed by Ramona’s own “Teacher Of The Year“, Mr. Daniel S. James. As in all economically challenged school programs, this group is truly deserving of our public support. The music program in Ramona has grown fifty percent in the past three years and has numerous winning trophies to their credit. Popularity of the band programs is increasing due to the dedication and hard work of many selfless individuals involved. The outcome shows a glimpse of important values returning to the forefront of our young and of course, it keeps the ever-appreciated music in our lives. The AME (Alliance for Music Education) is a 501(C)(3) organization striving to support the music enrichment of our high schools. Along with learning the art of music performance, the band programs have been proven to enhance the academic learning power in students. It provides them with a positive “band family” unlike any other commonality in teen years and it successfully encourages quality leadership skills for life. We want the public to embrace the beauty of kids entering and striving to better themselves with programs such as this and we want those same kids to be able to participate without financial limitation.
