We are searching for "next generation" IT Professionals who recently graduated from college with a 4 year degree in Computer Science or similar who are interested in launching their programming career as a Java/J2EE Developer with our direct client, the leader in the wireless service industry. We seek recent graduates who possess both the "technical DNA" and interpersonal skills necessary to be productive members of demanding Enterprise IT environments.
If you get the job, College to Hire participants are introduced to a real world, customer specific, training program. The first 3 weeks of work is actually this paid training period. Once completed, you will seamlessly transition from training to working onsite at our clients location (Enterprise Production Environment). Coaching and mentoring techniques from management are employed here on out to ensure the success of you and each program participant while on the job.
This Program is high profile, high visibility. VP's and Directors are keenly interested in the program. We know of no other entry-level, enterprise opportunity, where such attention has been garnered. The goal is for you to be hired as a direct, permanent employee by our client. You will be offered an opportunity to work as a full time employee for the Wireless Service Provider anytime after 6 months should there be mutual interest.
You may be asked to take on any role within the SDLC of the J2EE environment/Java application and therefore must be interested in ALL areas of responsibility within the SDLC including: Design Development Testing Maintenance Documentation Analysis
As a College-to-Hire participant, you will become a member of the Applications Development team, where you will be mentored and expected to increasingly demonstrate your ability to work independently.
You will be challenged to work on projects whose complexity will increase as you demonstrate progress. You will work under the direction and supervision of senior applications staff and management. To be successful, you will need to complete assigned application tasks on time, (e.g., design, development, testing, maintenance, documentation, etc.), and perform problem resolution activities according to established procedures. You will also make supervised decisions that impact assignments. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary to proactively communicate status reports and critical issues to management.
Candidates must be coachable and thick skinned with the ability to handle constructive criticism. Candidates must be motivated, self starters who will take the initiative to learn new concepts on their own. Candidates must be passionate about the Wireless Service Industry. Candidates must be enthusiastic about making an impact in the wireless industry Candidates must have a BS in Computer Science or Engineering with a 3.0 GPA or higher.

Business Analysts: We have trained and started our first group of Business Analysts for a major health care provider in the East Bay. 16 API employees have completed training and are working at locations in Pleasanton, Emeryville and Oakland.
