We are asking concerned parents, community members, and alumni to show there support for our Middleton Teachers by having a peaceful protest outside the Middleton District Administrative Center on Monday, March 28th at 2pm.
*Our district recently offered a teacher contract extension that is full of non-fiscal changes that hurt our schools.
Middleton is the #1 Best Place To Live according to Money Magazine in large part due to its school system. Why break what’s working?
This contract will make us unable to attract and retain good teachers in our district.
The contract offered this week will ruin what makes Middleton great.
What can you do?
Call or email the Board of Education- (email addresses provided on the MCPASD website) Ellen Lindgren, BoE president 217-5938
Some non-fiscal contract changes to reference: Removes “just cause” language - teachers can be fired for any or no reason. Board of Education changes contract grievance system to be the final arbitrator - BoE make the rules and enforces them. Fair share union dues are eliminated – employees must opt-in to pay dues. UNION BUSTING! Lets administrators assign teachers non-instructional duties – takes away prep time.
We are concerned parents and community members of the Middleton Cross Plains school district.
