Responsibilities: -Procurement leader of the EMS (Electronic Manufacturing Services) category team. -Develop and execute EMS category strategies through alignment with all business units, engineering, quality, manufacturing activities. Requires knowledge of the business units technology and product roadmaps and specific expertise in procurement and electronic manufacturing cost structure. -Responsible to manage and make critical decisions on all aspects of global supplier relationships including contracts, commercial/pricing, supply assurance, quality and conflict resolution. -The role requires a sophisticated level of relationship management interfacing with CEOs and business presidents of global suppliers, requiring balancing of interests to maintain mutually beneficial relationships. -Coordination of executive level engagement between procurement, supply chain functions and senior stake holders within the business. This person will be an escalation/communication point for Harman International and the supply partner. Responsibilities -Establish and execute on category goals, improvement plans, business reviews and monthly reporting. -Execute effective supplier negotiations and event driven cost reductions to meet annual cost reduction goals. -Lead team and drive category and sub-category strategies to achieve a world class supply base. -Establish consistent commercial terms/conditions and present a single unified interface to the supply base. -Serve as a point of contact for business unit sourcing issues and opportunities related to category management.
Education Requirements: -Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering or related fields. MBA a plus. -7+ years of Procurement, Strategic Sourcing and supply management. -Strong negotiation, relationship building, presentation and writing skills. -Proven ability to lead diverse global teams to achieve cost, quality, and time to market commitments -Success in collaborating with key work partners and able to maintain relationships at the executive level -Ability to speak clearly and express self well in groups and in one-to-one conversations. -Demonstrate resourcefulness to effectively leverage and focus resources across organizational and geographic boundaries.
