Job Overview:

The Controller oversees and directs all functions pertaining to General Ledger, Revenue Audit and Accounts Payable functions. This individual ensures that all Financial Reporting related to our two properties are in conformance with company policies and procedures, regulatory requirements and generally accepted accounting principles.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Directs the organization's G/L, Revenue Audit, and A/P accounting functions for our casinos

- Ensures the integrity of all financial reporting and the integrity of all financial data

- Responsible for maintaining internal controls and establishing company policies and procedures as may be required to conform to regulatory requirements and generally accepted accounting principles

- Directs preparation and distribution of monthly financial statements and other financial reports or analysis as may be required

- Directs and assists Accounts Payable Supervisor, General Accounting Manager and Revenue Audit Manager in the completion of their department responsibilities

- Generates journal entries for the financial accounting area of the casino accurately and in a timely manner

- Monitors all financial activities on property, to ensure that all applicable laws, rules, regulations and controls of the company, federal authorities and the gaming commission are enforced throughout the property

- Monitors company operational budgets to identify and evaluate variances in projected revenues, expenditures and profits

- Participates in monthly financial statement review and internal control updates

- Proactively identify and troubleshoot financial problems, to ensure operational effectiveness, maximize profitability, and ensure proper controls throughout the company

- Develops and reviews daily financial reports to verify accounting accuracy

- Counsels, guides and instructs direct reports in the proper performance of their duties for all areas of responsibility. Ensures proper training of staff is conducted

- Other duties & responsibilities as assigned

Job Requirements: (please ensure you meet the listed requirements prior to applying)

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting

- Certified Public Accountant preferred

- A minimum of five (5) years experience in an accounting management role (manager or above)

- Experience and responsibilities involving accounting oversight of multiple facilities (separate reporting entities) preferred

- Five (5) years of experience in casino accounting

- Experience working directly in Revenue Audit or having direct responsibility for the Revenue Audit Department

- Documented experience in written communications with verifiable skills in English, spelling, punctuation, writing, and composition; Excellent report writing skills required; Documented experience with assembling information/data into executive summaries and detailed reports

- Experience with computerized accounting software , namely Infinium or Microsoft Dynamics/Great Plains and FRx Reporting

- Must successfully pass applicable knowledge, skills, and abilities exams, including a computer applications test or demonstrate proficiency using relative systems including, but not limited to, Outlook, Excel, Power Point, and Word computer programs

- Experience with budgeting, financial reporting, expense analysis, cost benefit analysis and financial statement interpretation

- Skilled and mature in making valid judgments, the determination of priorities, working independently; well organized with attention to detail; and the ability to relate effectively to the general public

- Willing to travel to multiple properties and locations to attend meetings, perform other work-related functions, or participate in training as recommended or required

- Must have and maintain valid state-issued operator driver's license

- Willingness to work odd and irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required

- Must have a Gaming License (or the ability to obtain and maintain a license) as a requirement for this position

- Must have willingness and ability to work in a smoke/secondary smoke environment
