Position Posting: Family Safety Center Executive Director

The mission of the Family Safety Center is to provide one location that effectively combines civil, criminal, health and social services for victims of family violence. The concept of Family Safety Centers is based on the child advocacy center model was first promoted by the federal government. The goal is to provide a central-point-of-entry facility which co-houses public and private organizations which address the myriad of challenges faced by victims of family violence.

Primary Duties:
•Manage and operate the daily activities of the Family Safety Center.
•Develop and administer policies and procedures.
•Develop and manage staff.
•Manage all financial affairs of FSC to budget (Revenue and Expenses).
•Coordinate all activities with appropriate staff/partners.
•Deal with and solve all issues.
•Develop and implement an annual budget and plan for each ensuing fiscal year.
•Develop and manage a long term plan and budget for a three year horizon.
•Plan, lead and manage fund development in both the public and private sectors.
•Be the primary spokesperson for the FSC.
•Prepare agenda and packets for all Board Meetings.
•Promote the FSC in Memphis and Shelby County.
•Manage positive relationships with and among all partners.
•Develop accountability reporting for progress towards decreasing domestic violence.

•Education – Minimum of college degree with emphasis on social sciences, criminal justice or similar field.
•Field Experience – Minimum of ten years experience in the field of domestic violence.
•Leadership – Minimum of three years of leading and managing people and projects of a major division at a public, non-profit or for profit entity.
•Business Management – previous successful history of building and managing short-term and long-term budgets and plans. (Always meets or exceeds.)
•Fundraising – Previous successful track record in fund development and/or sales.
•People Management – Previous successful track record in leading and managing direct reports as well as influencing others to adopt and work for your strategies.
