Visionaire Media, a socially-conscious media company based in Los Angeles, is looking to cast an upcoming documentary TV series, Trading Places, featuring a quintessential family in Texas (near Dallas or Austin).
In each episode of Trading Places, an American and an Arab from the Middle East trade places for a week, living with each other’s families and otherwise experiencing life in the other person’s shoes.
The show will follow each family as they grow to appreciate both the differences and similarities in culture, while overcoming negative stereotypes and misconceptions.
At the end of the episode, the reunited American family will meet to discuss what happened, exchange their views and talk about lessons learned.
Filming duration: A week and a half in May/June 2011 (for 1 episode).
Compensation: $2000 for each American family chosen, plus all travel abroad expenses provided for the family member traveling.
Note: The American family member traveling will be going to a Middle Eastern country that is deemed politically stable and regarded as a safe country for Americans to visit.
Interested families should email a picture as well as links to any home videos they might be able to post on You Tube introducing the family members, the name of their home town and a number where they can be reached.
** We’re looking for families that are entrenched in a unique lifestyle. Some examples of this include a family of cattle ranchers, mom & pop restaurant owners or otherwise families that rally to a single cause, whether that be a daughter’s entry into a beauty pageant or a son’s success in football.
