ESTIMATOR Are you a person who has experience in analyzing blue prints, specifications, and proposals? We have an exciting position open for an Estimator for a prestigious client open right now. The company is located in Kansas City, MO and will be a full time position
. The position requirements will be as follows: Evaluate project risk and assist in determining value of risk Review project estimate before senior management final review Assignment of projects to estimator for takeoff. Compute cost factors and preparing estimates, organize, and schedule work; prepare bids; selecting Vendors or Subcontractors; and determining cost effectiveness. Assist with research to establish accurate hourly productivity rates or other related cost data. Consult with Subcontractors, Vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates, and resolve issues. Interface with other associated personnel to gain support and commitment to the cost estimates. Assist with analyzing completed projects, comparing the estimated costs to actual costs, and determining reasons for any discrepancies. Organize and manage the centralized historical database and help ensure the data is being utilized effectively. Provide improvement recommendations to estimating procedures to reduce future discrepancies between estimated and actual costs. Develop and maintain client relationships during bid process. Review and verify final bid summary Perform research identifying trends in the market that lead to cost reductions and improved processes. Perform additional assignments per supervisors direction
In order to perform the Estimator position successfully the candidate will have to demonstrate the following skills: Oral communication the individual speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations. Judgment the individual displays willingness to make decisions, exhibits sound and accurate judgment and makes timely decisions. TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES Demonstrate organizational skills and the ability to coordinate data, plans, and personnel. Demonstrate detail oriented work methods that maximize efficiency and productivity. Demonstrate the ability to utilize technology including: MS Office, estimating hardware and software and Company proprietary software. Demonstrate effective time management skills and the ability to meet or exceed deadlines. Demonstrate problem solving skills and the ability to identify issues, and seek appropriate assistance when required. Demonstrate strong motivational and leadership skills to ensure that bids are supported by all team members. Demonstrate ability to extrapolate knowledge gained from lessons learned and apply to future bids
