Title: RN (2) - Staff Nurse-Oncology MedSurg- NIGHTS Location: Phoenix, AZ Salary: $45,000-$67,500 Responsibilities of Position: Medical Center is a nonprofit hospital with a rich history of providing high-quality health care to residents of the northwest Valley. We have excellent programs in stroke care, cardiac services and women's health. Medical Center opened its doors in 1988 and has been growing ever since to meet the health care needs of the communities in the northwest area of metropolitan Phoenix. The nonprofit acute care hospital has 404 licensed beds and is currently the eighth-largest hospital in the Valley. Registered Nurse Full Time Nights (2) positions, requiring 3/Nights/wk with/other weekend. 5C is a 21 bed Medical Surgical unit specializing in the care of the Oncology patient. Previous Med/Surg experienced preferred. Chemo certification preferred however can acquire within 1 year of employment. Responsibilities: Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, and cultural and discharge planning needs. Formulates a plan of care, including the discharge plan, utilizing assessment data, patient, and family and health team input. Implements the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation and supervision of the activities of the health care team. Evaluates the patient's and family’s response to care and teaching, and revise the plan of care as needed. Documents assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the patient record. Provides care based on the best evidence available and may participate in research activities within clinical practice. Contributes or society through activities that lead to excellent patient outcomes through timely, effective, efficient, equitable and safe care. Education Required: Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications • Not appropriate for New Grads • Must have CHEMO Exp! Must possess a current valid Arizona RN license in state of practice, temporary RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice. BLS certification is required. Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice. Relates throughout the interview process the experience, training and education needed to perform the job. Experience in the clinical area for which he or she is applying is desired. Must maintain clinical performance competencies appropriate to the area in which they work as demonstrated through annual validations. Banner Registry and Travel positions require a minimum of one year in an acute care hospital setting, Experience must include working in an acute care setting within the past 12 months as a Registered Nurse in the specialty area.
