SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES Under the guidance of the Operation Manager (and Buyer) the production planner/scheduler will create and modify the master schedule, This position will interface with all applicable groups such as production, sales, engineering, management , etc. In addition the production planner/ scheduler is responsible for production planning, shop floor scheduling and labor / capacity planning.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (1) Read and analyze customer orders production schedules, and other production documentation. (2) Develop production schedules to execute shop orders to meet delivery requirements. (3) Act as primary liaison between production leads and the Operations Manager (4) Monitor production progress and provide notification as required when adjustments are required to meet customer orders. (5) Notify Purchasing Manager, Manufacturing Manager as required when obstacles to executing schedule are recognized. (6) Research and develop new lean manufacturing processes and techniques that can be beneficial for future planning and production. (7) Notify Operations Manager when coordinate is required with Production Control, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Department, Quality Control and Purchasing to make schedule adjustments, expedite administrative functions or rectify emergent issues. (8) Attend production planning meetings with production managers and provide data to as required for proper sequencing of work and other production planning efforts. (9) Compile data and develop metrics, schedules and reports for management analysis. (10) Update and fully comprehend Hoshin metrics and complete action items on a timely basis (11) Be able to go out on the production floor and work with the leads in understanding the customer requirements (12) Notify Customer Service on issues with meeting customer demands (13) Generate work orders for product that is used to complete full assemblies (14) Maintain accurate stock levels in inventory during the peak and non-peak seasons (15) Analyze production performance past and present jobs to develop more realistic estimates for job scheduling. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) * About 5 years of direct experience as a planner/scheduler * Must be methodical, thorough, and a team player * Understanding of lean concepts * Excellent organization and communication skills * Proficient with ERP/MRP, Microsoft Project, and/or Primavera * Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of programs * About 5 years plus scheduling experience * Good problem solving skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Multi lingual skills (Spanish and Chinese) highly desirable * Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering field or equivalent work experience or a combination of education and work experience.
