POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for adjustments and set-ups of machines to ensure highest standards of parts while maintaining machine efficiency levels as well as keeping scrap rate to a minimum.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
1. Receives machine priorities from Shift Supervisor at the beginning as well as during the shift.
2. Ensures parts are in compliance with work orders as well as company Quality Manual.
a. Parison Adjustments
b. Align Blow Pipes
c. Cleaning machine heads and tooling
3. Maintains optimum cycle times on machines assigned.
4. Completes Daily Technician Adjustment Log.
5. Performs Set-up when assigned by supervisor as directed on Mold Set-Up Sheet.
a. Ensures mold components are functioning
b. Works with Material Hander when set-up is complete to ensure raw materials are in accordance with work order (resin, color, additives, etc.)
c. Prepares auxiliary equipment if necessary
d. Prepares first article for quality inspection.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:
1. Responsible for general floor housekeeping.
2. Assists with training of junior technical staff.
3. Other duties as assigned by Shift Supervisor
EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Education
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Forklift Certification
Skills
• 3 years of experience with molding equipment
• Proper use of fractions, ratios, and other measurements
• Ability to verify containers to blueprints and SPI/ Q.A. Standards
• Knowledge of optimum processing temperatures for standard materials.
• Work requires continual attention to detail and must be efficient, accurate and reliable.
• Ability to work in fast paced environment.
• Ability to shift priorities as required meeting expectations while working with a sense of urgency to provide results.
• Read & write English.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
1. All types of standing, stooping and lifting.
2. Able to safely lift 50 lbs. using safety belt provided.
Degree Of Physical Activity
• Walking 4-5 hours per day. Standing 2-3 hours per day
• Lifting boxes and molds ranging from 20 to 75 lbs.
Visual Demand
• 20/20 corrected vision. Good color perception
Work Environment
• Inside Production Warehouse (occasional high noise levels but hearing protection provided)
Equipment Used
• Various types of Extrusion and Injection Machines such as Sinco, Bekum, and Nissei.
• Various auxiliary equipment as well as hand tools.
SHIFT A - SUNDAY-THURSDAY 6:30A-2:30P
SHIFT B - TUESDAY-SATURDAY 2:30-10:30P
SHIFT C - THURSDAY-MONDAY 10:30P-6:30A
SHIFT D - SUNDAY, MONDAY 2:30-10:30P / TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY 10:30P-6:30A / THURSDAY OFF / FRIDAY, SATURDAY 6:30A-2:30P (THIS SHIFT HAS 8 OT HOURS MANDATORY PER WEEK.)
