Under direct supervision of the CVCBD Sanitation Supervisor, the Assistant Supervisor Sanitation Services assists the Supervisor in organizing work and program activities. The incumbent supervises weekday staff as needed when the Supervisor is absent and regularly supervises the weekend staff. The incumbent also serves as a Sanitation Team worker helping to keep the Charles Village Community Benefits District clean by sweeping streets and alleys, servicing the trash receptacles placed throughout the district and picking up bulk trash.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Under direction of the CVCBD Sanitation Supervisor, will supervise other Sanitation team members as needed.
Responsibilities 1. Serves as the Supervisor on weekends to manage the weekend crew, and in the Supervisor’s absence he is out of the office due to illness, vacations, attendance at meetings, or other times; 2. Assists the Supervisor in organizing program activities and work schedules and in supervising staff; 3. Daily review of CVCBD Post records and each post physically to insure all posts are being maintained in accordance to CVCBD Standards and The Baseline Agreement; 4. Meets each morning with other members of the Sanitation Team and the Supervisor, Sanitation and Safety to receive daily assignments and discuss issues; 5. Sweeps sidewalks and gutters in assigned Cleaning Post; 6. Checks and cleans (as necessary) trash cans, alleys, and storm drains in the assigned post each day; 7. Charts and maintains CVCBD Sanitation supplies and equipment inventory; 8. Removes bulk trash from the alleys as necessary; 9. Cleans and maintains (with other members of the Team) vehicles, uniforms, and equipment daily; 10. Serves as an Ambassador for the program to residents in the community, providing information and answering questions; 11. Assists when necessary in cleaning the CVCBD offices; 12. Performs other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor, Sanitation Services
Qualifications: • Previous successful supervisory experience (at least 1 year of proven supervisory/management experience) • Valid Maryland driver’s license at the time of hire • Residence in the City of Baltimore or willingness to relocate within 90 days of hire • Ability to communicate well both written and verbally in professional manner with both employees and the public • Ability to maintain records and operate a computer utilizing Microsoft Office programs & email • Physical ability to push a trash cart for 6-8 hours per day, five days a week (or as needed) • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently during the course of each day • Physical ability to walk up to 2 miles each day
Work Schedule: Sunday- Thursday 7:30 to 3:30pm (Most be available for mandatory Overtime) * Located on Bus route (#3)
