Are you or your children interested in learning more about world cultures and languages? The Center for Cultural Interchange invites you and your family to bring the world to your doorstep in 2011 by becoming a volunteer host family!
CCI is a nonprofit organization with over 25 years of experience in bringing international high school students from over 60 countries to live with American host families while attending local high schools. Our international students are carefully screened and selected based on their maturity, English ability, and personal and academic achievements. Students arrive with their own health insurance and spending money and are eager to experience the wonders of life on Maui. Our local coordinator also serves as an on-island advocate for all students during their stay, helping to bridge potential communication and cultural barriers and ensure that both students and families derive maximum benefit (and fun!) from their homestay experience.
Each year CCI offers over 1,000 exchange students the rare opportunity to study in the United States for a period of five to ten months. Our host families are essential in creating a positive experience for these students! Successful host families can include couples and single adults with or without children, empty-nesters, and same-sex couples.
Be the next family to share the aloha and experience the rewards of becoming an international host family! Your kids and your community will thank you for bringing the world to their doorstep.
If you have questions or would like further information, please contact CCI Local Coordinator Eric Leventhal at (808) 250-2429 or google "CCI exchange". Mahalo!
