POSITION: (5) Radiologic Technicians.

EXPERIENCE: Must have at least three (3) years working as a Pharmacy Technician; must have a medical/technical background obtained through education or on the job training in the Pharmaceutical field; must be a high school graduate or GED equivalent; must have computer and typing skills; must be certified by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB); college level training in the sciences and mathematic and past correctional experience is desirable, but is not required; speak, read, and write English; BCLS; current shot records.

SPECIFIC DUTIES: All duties shall be performed in accordance with standards and methods generally accepted with the field of Pharmacy Technician Services, and compliance with all Federal and State policy and regulations associated with:
1. Federal \Bureau of Prisons Health Services
2. American Correctional Association Standards/Core Standards for Adult Correctional Institutions.
3. Joint Commission

The contractor will provide one (1) Radiology Technician estimated to provide, one thousand four hundred forty (1,440) sessions for the base year and each of the option years. A session is defined as one (1) hour in duration.
Reading & interpreting prescriptions and medication order written by medical staff, selection and retrieval of medications of correct strength and dosage form prescribed, transcribing prescription data to labels using typewriters or via computer system, preparing prescriptions for review by a Pharmacist or Physician prior to dispensing, and giving pertinent patient instructions when appropriate; will not fill, issue and/or deal in any way with DEA controlled substances but can be responsible for the running of pill lines upon proper orientation by the Chief Pharmacist.
Assist the Pharmacist in ensuring that only medications listed in the approved Bureau of Prisons Formulary are dispensed and will ensure that requests for Non-Formulary Medications are initiated and submitted to the BOP Chief Pharmacist for approval.
Proficient in maintaining adequate inventories of all medications and medical supplies and preparing the proper paperwork for replenishment of inventory, as well as performing an expiration date check ensure that no outdated or expired stock remains in the inventory; assist with picking up orders from the front lobby.
Assist in updating patient education literature, assisting in improvement of performance studies and also assist the Pharmacist in meeting policy guidelines for the inmates.
