Far North Dallas company needs Accounting Manager for evaluation hire. Salary $70K-$92K per year.


The purpose of this position is to manage the production of financial operational information. This is accomplished by classifying, recording and presenting operational data for review and use, ensuring adherence to and compliance with all agreements, accounting principles, policies and procedures, and to direct associated staff functions. Other duties include providing customer service support for both internal and external parties, and to assist both internal and external auditors.


Completes regularly scheduled audits by coordinating staff efforts, completing and reviewing audit schedules, assisting with the preparation of the comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR), and complying with requests from auditors.

Issues regularly scheduled reports by coordinating staff efforts, reviewing transactions, analyzing and issuing financial statements, reviewing and approving journal vouchers, and creating revenue transfers.

Approves general ledger coding by reviewing requisitions and their assigned codes, correcting as necessary, posting after review, and generating the processes in accounts payable.

Manages staff efforts by participating in the hiring process, scheduling and assigning tasks, participating in and conducting regularly scheduled department meetings, training staff, and monitoring workflows and activities.


Formal Education - Work requires broad knowledge in governmental accounting. Knowledge is normally acquired through four years of college resulting in a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, with a major in Accounting preferred.

Experience - Over three years up to and including five years governmental accounting experience.

Supervision - Work requires directing and monitoring work performance by directing accountants, including making final decisions on hiring and disciplinary actions, evaluating program/work objectives and effectiveness, and realigning work and staffing assignments, as needed.

Human Collaboration Skills - Recommendations regarding policy development and implementation are made and/or recommended. Evaluates customer satisfaction, develops and maintains cooperative associations with all departments to provide required financial information and reports , and utilizes resources to continuously improve customer satisfaction.

Technical Skills - Advanced: Work requires advanced skills and knowledge in approaches and systems, which affect the design and implementation of major programs and/or processes organization-wide. Independent judgment and decision-making abilities are necessary to apply technical skills effectively.

Budget Responsibility - Oversees budget preparation of a division/section budget. Has responsibility for approval of final documents sent to the Department Head. Reviews and approves expenses of significant budgeted funds for the division/section.
