Job Description:
Are YOU the person who can be our Chief Nursing Officer and provide executive nursing leadership for our Community Health Network, including the execution of our strong vision and philosophy, as well as our strategic plans that shape the direction of nursing practice and profession at our Community NOW?

Will YOU head the Indianapolis-based Community Health Network, which is a leading not-for-profit health system offering convenient access to expert physicians, advanced treatments and leading-edge technology, all focused on getting patients well and back to their lives?
Can YOU lead with care and compassion, the Community's five hospitals and more than 90 sites of care, Indiana’s largest home care company that continually strives to improve the health and well-being of those individuals in central Indiana who entrust their care to us?
Are YOU capable of overseeing the smooth and beneficial operation of:-
 Five nursing homes, a variety of ambulatory settings (including 15 surgery centers in Indiana and Michigan)?
 A 250-member primary care group practice and 300 other employed physicians and nurse practitioners?
Also responsible:
 To serve as the Network’s nursing executive, representing the voice, practice, and profession of Community nursing with internal and external constituencies
 To build upon our vision for Community Health Network nursing that encompasses nursing practice in acute care, ambulatory, home care, hospice, physician practice, and long-term care settings, and that facilitates contributions at all levels of nursing clinicians.
 To spearhead the development, monitoring, and execution of the nursing strategic plan, in collaboration with the nursing executives from the entities of the Network and thereby, support the Network’s strategic plan.
 To act as expert and advocate for high quality, safety, and exceptional experience in patient care, with a demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based practices and commitments to continuous improvement, innovation, and research.
 To ensure safe, fulfilling, and satisfying working and practice environments for Community nurses, along with opportunities for nurse input, involvement, engagement, and professional growth and development.
 To provide executive oversight and direction for nursing operations throughout the Network, serving as a knowledgeable resource regarding: scope of nursing practice and other regulatory requirements that impact the practice of nursing at Community; nursing staffing models; nursing productivity measurement and systems; budget and finances.

A Master’s Degree in Nursing, with a Ph.D. is preferred.
A current license to practice nursing in the State of Indiana.

Experience (Required):

• At least ten years of progressively responsible experience or competency expansion in nursing leadership and/or consultative roles.
• Leadership and/or consultative nursing experience in multiple care settings, with strong preference for individuals who have served in senior nursing leadership in health systems.
• Demonstrated abilities, with evidence of a high level of effectiveness, in the following:

o Developing visions and strategic plans, and driving plan execution;
o Assembling and leading teams with high performance results;
o Forming strong relationships with physicians, leaders, and nurses, with capabilities to negotiate and influence;
o Serving as a credible, expert nursing leadership presence with governance and external constituencies;
o Communicating complex concepts and challenging directions clearly, compassionately, confidently, and with conviction.

• Demonstrated applied knowledge of: Healthcare environment---
o Current directions, and potential impacts and implications;
o Effective leadership models and practices;
o Quality improvement philosophy, techniques and principles;
o State and national laws and regulations;
o Business, (including) financial and human resource management, strategic thinking, marketing, and technology.
