PRESTIGIOUS SCHOLARSHIP TEEN PROGRAM SEEKS CLUSTER DIRECTORS
PAX – Program of Academic Exchange seeks qualified Cluster Directors to work with its two federally funded programs: YES (Youth Exchange and Study) and FLEX (Future Leaders Exchange). YES awards full scholarships to a number of high school teens from countries with significant Muslim populations. This prestigious program is vital in today’s political climate as it seeks to break down the barriers and stereotypes between the U.S. and the Muslim world. FLEX is a leadership program that promotes democracy and human rights in the countries of the former Soviet Union and all its high school finalists are selected in an open, merit-based competition. Both programs focus on four major themes to achieve its goals: Education, Exchanges, Engagement, and Empowerment. YES and FLEX scholars are selected out of thousands that apply for their leadership potential, personalities and academics and come from such countries as Afghanistan, Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia, Brunei, Bulgaria, Egypt, Georgia, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Macedonia, Malaysia, Moldova, Mozambique, the Philippines, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Tajikistan, Thailand and Turkey, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan.
Cluster Directors represent the scholarship programs in their local communities and arrange host families and high school enrollments for 3 scholarship recipients per year. Cluster Directors earn commission per student; are invited to attend a training seminar in Washington DC and an annual 4-day national meeting (held each year at a different resort location, all expenses paid).
