Responsible for implementing and supporting programs that make sure Food products are safe and meet or exceed quality standards while fully complying with food regulations. Lead the development and daily management of the plant quality system and quality control staff. Serve as the primary interface with USDA and manage related USDA programs.
DUTIES AND RESPOSIBLITIES:
∑ Lead and develop the plant Quality Assurance staff in the 2 facilities
∑ Serve as the establishment interface with USDA.
∑ Assure compliance to USDA and FDA regulatory standards
∑ Provide product disposition
∑ Responsible for effective HACCP implementation and maintenance in conjunction with all supporting prerequisite programs
∑ Support revision of existing and development of new Standard Operating Procedures and Policies
∑ Investigate and respond to consumer and customer complaints
∑ Support the approval process on new products and changes to existing products / processes.
∑ Issue monthly and weekly reports as assigned
∑ Provide and support training for HACCP and prerequisite programs
∑ Provide technical support on product improvement projects or other special projects as assigned
∑ A Bachelorís degree AND subsequent food-manufacturing/Quality Assurance experience of a minimum of 5-years.
∑ Ability to communicate well with all levels.
∑ Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
∑ AS400 and PRISM experience a plus.
∑ Must have knowledge of HACCP, GMP(s), SOP(s) and Food Safety Principles.
