Looking for volunteers to assist at the 2011 Rock 'n' Roll Mardi Gras Marathon benefiting the American Cancer Society to be held on 2/13/11. With more than 15,000 runners expected, it takes lots of teamwork to put on a race of this caliber. Our main focus is to recruit volunteers for the Start and Finish Line, as we need 150-200 additional volunteers at each location. We are also looking for volunteers to assist at the Expo on Friday (approx 35), KiDS ROCK race on Saturday (City Park; approx 35 volunteers and Race Day at the Start (approx 200 volunteers) & Finish Line area (approx 150 volunteers). We will provide water, coffee and bagels to volunteers at the start line and water, coffee, snacks, and lunch to volunteers at the finish line.

Sunday, February 13 2011 Start Line Tchoupitoulas Street and Race Street 4:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. (Water/snacks provided) Duties Include: Start Line Set-up, Corral Monitoring, crowd control and Directional support. Finish Line City Park (next to Tad Gormley Stadium) 5:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. (lunch will be provided for 'All-Day' volunteers) Duties Include: distribution of race medals, water, snacks to race participants; crowd control and Directional support.
All volunteers will receive an Official Race Crew T-shirt, Entry into Race-Crew only prizes, goodie bag, community service verification letter and we provide snacks/water for each shift, lunch for volunteers that work all day at the expo or at the finish line. Volunteers will also have access to the post-race party on Sunday February 13th in City Park. Volunteers directly support the efforts of participants that are running to raise funds for the American Cancer Society, whom we are excited to welcome as our official beneficiary.
