Deployment Health Center (DHC), Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune, NC

Possess a current, valid, unrestricted license in one of the fifty States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Possess a minimum of 1 year full-time experience within the past 2 years in adult neuropsychology.
Experience shall not be inclusive of the post-doctoral fellowship.
HCWs shall maintain current certification in American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers; American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Course; American Red Cross CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation) for the Professional Rescuer; or equivalent.

Perform a full range of Neuropsychology services, within the scope of clinical privileges granted by the onsite Commanding Officer, using government furnished supplies, facilities and equipment within the assigned work area.
Perform clinical evaluations including administration and interpretation of neuropsychological, cognitive and personality tests, and provide clinical consultation regarding selection of psychological tests.

General Provisions
Implement and adhere to MTF policies that assure confidentiality of patient communications. Perform services with a multi-disciplinary approach to the treatment.
Document therapy in accordance with standard MTF policies and procedures on medical records.
Communicate with family members and significant others in order to further the effectiveness of patient treatment and progress.
Comply with established MTF and departmental policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance and safety programs, and environmental and infection control policies.

The HCW shall participate in outreach and marketing of the Deployment Health program and services provided. As such, the HCW shall liaison with the Line Commanders, screen patients, provide treatment when appropriate, educate returning units on the availability of the service and coordinate follow-on care.
The HCW shall participate in providing educational sessions/briefings for returning deployed Units on deployment related illnesses/conditions and the realities of readjusting to life following deployment.
The HCW shall communicate with family members and significant others in order to further the effectiveness of patient treatment and progress.

The HCW shall provide care for eligible patients resulting from the deployment related screenings in accordance with the Deployment Health Clinical Center (DHCC) guidelines.
Emphasis will be on the treatment of mental health to include post traumatic stress disorders and other combat related psychological symptoms. Family member care, related to deployment, may be included in the active duty member's scheduled sessions.
The HCW shall support deployment related healthcare services, such as but not inclusive of the Periodic
Health Assessment, Pre or Post Deployment Health Assessments, Deployment Health Screenings, and assess the results, treat and refer patients for further treatment as appropriate. The DHC contractor HCWs shall provide deployment health screening services to all service members either individually or in groups, at the DHC or at the Operational Unit as determined necessary.
The HCW may be required to travel to Branch Health Clinics or Line Units within a 35 mile radius of the military treatment facility. The HCW may be required to periodically travel beyond 35 miles for training or to provide temporary services to outlying clinic locations. Lodging and per-diem rates will apply.
The HCW shall work with MTF and other contract medical personnel to schedule initial and follow-on appointments or referrals for service members before they leave the Deployment Health Center or the screening at the Line unit.
The contractor Psychologist will perform assessments, evaluations, consultations, differential diagnosis, and treatment planning for all disorders defined by the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual for Mental Disorders (current edition) published by the American Psychiatric Association.
The HCW shall ensure that all service members that require follow-on appointments or referrals will have them before leaving the DHC.
The HCWs assigned to the DHC may be utilized for walk-in or other scheduled appointments in support of other MTF clinics only when all other deployment health related commitments have been fulfilled.
