MCYAF (Maine Community Youth Assistance Foundation) is a non-profit community collaborative. Members include, community leaders, parents, faith leaders, and business, and social service agencies, elected officials, government, health organizations, all committed to drug and alcohol-free youth in Maine Township. Our purpose is to decrease drug, alcohol and tobacco use among Maine Township youth and build community capacity to address substance use issues.

Title: Director of Programs
Hours: Full-time: 35 hours/week
Reports to: Board of Directors
Salary: $ 40,000/No health benefits

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: the Director of Programs manages the programs, projects and staff that are a part of the state Partnerships for Success Grant and the federal Drug Free Communities Grant.

REQUIREMENTS: minimum of a bachelor’s degree in community/public health, substance abuse prevention, social services, education or a related field, in addition to 3-5 years of program management experience. Strong skills in coalition building, communication and community organizing. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with community groups and engage youth in prevention projects. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate proven success in collaborative program management and achievement of positive outcomes. Access to a car and the ability to lift and transport program materials.

• Write the grant applications with Director of Operations.
• Provide the oversight of grant programs, budget and reporting.
• Actively participate in the strategic planning process.
• Supervise and evaluate all program/project staff.
• Assist Director of Operations in developing budget.
• Assess program/project staff needs; set goals and objectives in relation to organization goals and objectives.
• Serve as liaison with community stakeholders.
• Conduct community presentations as necessary.
• Coordinate and facilitate the monthly partnership meeting.
• Conduct new partnership member orientation.
• Provide consultation on best practices to organizations/coalitions.
• Facilitate yearly Town Hall meetings as required by the grant.
