Event Planning/Wedding Planning Experience Internship

We are looking for candidates that are professional, organized, detail oriented, enthusiastic.

We do elegant, professional, traditional weddings / events and have a big focus on customer satisfaction. It is important to know that while our focus is in customer satisfaction and making every wedding experience special and perfect, this is a highly sales oriented and numbers driven position. We take weddings very seriously and have a world class staff.

If you are interested in creating an event planning portfolio, then the first place to start is by planning an event. This may be the perfect position for you if you are looking for a unique opportunity to be hands-on involved in assisting a very busy bride in planning her wedding.

The ideal person for this position will meet the following criteria:

Interested in building an event planning portfolio to break into the highly competitive field of event planning
Interested in assisting and managing the numerous details in planning an upscale wedding
Very detail oriented
Highly motivated and eager to help
Available between 5 to 10 hours per week (this time per week will increase from 5 to 10 as the wedding date nears.)
Highly computer literate
Skilled in email communication
Generally be excited about weddings and wedding planning

The duties and responsibilities will vary tremendously. The following are a list of anticipated duties for the wedding planning intern:

Coordinating and facilitating the creative vision of the wedding reception and ceremony
Coordinating pre-wedding activities and traveling accommodations for bride, bridesmaids, groom and groomsmen
Proposing and assisting in the design plan for all printed materials such as programs, save the dates, invitations, et cetera
Drafting language for printed materials
Communicating and visiting vendors to ensure brides vision is executed well
Managing the overall execution of a successful event on the day of by working with the wedding planner to manage guests, vendors, decor setup and any other details needed.
Meet twice each month with the bride to discuss progress on tasks lists
Check email twice each day
Return voicemails/text messages within 24 hrs.
Travel with bride (at the bride's expense) when necessary

This is an unpaid internship.

Applications are accepted according to the following schedule:
Fall (Sept-Dec)
Winter (Jan-Apr)
Summer (May-Aug)
