The Kauffman School will enroll 100 fifth-graders in its first year and grow one grade per year thereafter; ultimately serving grades five through twelve. Teachers in the Kauffman School’s inaugural fifth grade classrooms will not be elementary school teachers, but rather subject teachers in accordance with a middle school model. The target population is urban students residing in low-income households. The Kauffman School is inspired and supported by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation.

Our approach to ensure every student is prepared to successfully complete college includes:

• A longer school year and longer school day.

• Consistent systems and procedures in all classrooms.
• Homework and reading assigned every night to every student.
• Challenging and inspiring students as they prepare for college and life.
