TrunkFairs Co. is in the process of developing its summer schedule and we are interested in inviting artists from throughout the Chicago area to participate in this unique art show format.
What is a TrunkFair? Essentially, a TrunkFair is a scaled down version of an Art Fair but without the tents. Artists bring their Art in their cars and vans to a location, typically a school parking lot located next to a high automotive traffic location. Artists park their cars in a parking lot, set up a portable table or easel, and sell their artwork. TrunkFair parking spaces are only $25. Compare this to booth spaces at the Fountain Square Art Fair: $375 booth fee + $30 jury fee and $100s in potential additional booth related fees. What does the TrunkFairs Co. do? We seek out school parking lots near high traffic thoroughfares in order to improve the percent of drop-in buyers. We promote the events using Internet postings, our extensive gallery network, and high automotive traffic signage.
What do the Artists do? Preregistration is not necessary because parking spaces are assigned on a first come first serve basis. Artists simply show up, park their cars, and sell their work. There is no risk of being turned away as the chosen parking lots can accommodate over a hundred artists in addition to potential customers
Come Join Us! If you are a seasoned artist or an artist who is looking for the opportunity to present their work at an extremely low cost, please email your contact information to the reply address so we can keep you informed of the developing spring and summer Trunk Fair schedule.
Thanks for your consideration. The TrunkFair Team.
