We currently seek a cytology supervisor to join us at our Shadyside location.
Responsibilities: -Provides general supervision under the friendly direction of the Technical Director and is responsible for the Cytology Division operations, quality and oversight of our professional, technical and support staff -Contributes to the development of the Cytology division by helping us meet our goals, and assuring that all department practices, policies and activities are aligned with those goals -Sets the standard of excellence in the Cytology division and promotes the professional development of our accommodating staff -Willingness to maintain expertise in new technology and methodology through attendance at professional associations, scientific meetings, and dialogue with colleagues and vendors
Requirements: -Bachelorís degree with a cytotechnologist certification and registry with the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) and three to five years cytology experience is required. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Six months supervisory experience is preferred -A good working knowledge of regulatory and accreditation requirements and a high degree of problem solving and decision making skills is desirable -Excellent leadership, human relations and communication skills are desirable -Previous academic and management experience or participation in management training programs is highly desired -ASCP certification in cytology
