Planet Aid is seeking an individual with extensive experience in USG proposal writing and negotiation.
About 50% of the time will be spent on tracking new USG opportunities, proposal development and writing. About 50% of the time will be used for building relationships and negotiating with USAID, State Department and a range of development organizations.
The Proposal Development Specialist (PDS) will be part of an International Grants Team and will be reporting to the Director of International Partnerships and the organization’s President.
The job consists of tracking new USG opportunities and identify relevant RFA’s/RFP’s in the field of health, HIV & AIDS, food security and education, and subsequently pursue opportunities for cooperation either directly with USAID or with a number of strategic partners.
During the proposal development process the PDS will be cooperating closely with staff in the field or country teams to get the needed information, CV's, indicators, etc. Finally the PDS will also write and edit the proposal, at times assisted by other grant writers. The PDS will be responsible for the final product being delivered to the relevant USG agency.
Qualification and experience sought: * Excellent writing skills and a systematic handling of the proposal process * Minimum 7 years experience with US Government proposal development * Profound experience with US development organizations * Excellent relation-building -and negotiations skills * Strong analytical skills * Good organizational skills and a systematic approach to solving challenges
Some national and international travel may be required
