Free Concert of Baroque Music with violinist, Artemis Simerson, flutist, Peter Standaart and harpsichordist, Britt Wheeler. The program will include:
* Carl Philipp Emanuel Bachís Concerto in D Minor for Flute and Harpsichord * Telemannís Trio Sonata in A Minor and J.S. Bachís Trio Sonata in C Major for Flute, Violin and Harpsichord * A selection of Domenico Scarlatti Sonatas for Solo Harpsichord * Handelís Sonata in D major for Violin and Harpsichord * J.S. Bachís Concerto in A minor for Violin and Harpsichord
The concert will take place at 7 p.m. on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at St. Francis Church, located at 397 Ferry Street (near Grand Avenue) in New Haven.
This will be the second concert of the third season of classical chamber music concerts performed by Solisti Saint Francis. Our other members are Gare Bennett, bassoonist; Sergio Pallottelli, flutist and Libby Van Cleve, oboist.
The recently restored interior of St. Francis Church provides a magnificent visual and acoustical setting, among the very finest of New Haven's churches and concert halls, particularly suited to the performance of the masterworks of the Baroque and Classical eras.
