This position is responsible for providing clinical and administrative oversight of the Addiction, Corrections and Treatment Program (ACT) to inmates in the ACDF and is located in the Substance Abuse Bureau of the Behavioral Healthcare Division in the Department of Human Services. The ACT program serves male and female inmates with substance abuse disorders, some of whom have co-existing psychiatric disorders. Assessment, triage, case management and treatment services are provided to inmates on a treatment unit that operates as a modified therapeutic community. The employee is responsible for managing the effective and efficient delivery of substance abuse treatment services to inmates and must develop and maintain relationships with the Sheriff's Department and criminal justice system. Specific duties include:
•providing on-going clinical supervision and administrative direction to staff;
•planning, directing and evaluating the operation of programs, services, policies and procedures;
•ensuring that services are accessible, and meet licensing and other standards; and
•writing policies, operating procedures, reports, budget narratives and grant applications.
The employee must foster and maintain effective working relationships with other program directors, professionals and jail staff concerning program operation and treatment activities. The employee will also participate as an active member of the Bureau's management team.

Minimum: Master's degree in a clinical discipline such as Counseling, Psychiatric Social Work, Psychology, Art Therapy, Psychiatric Nursing, or other directly related clinical discipline, all of which required a clinical practicum involving diagnostic and treatment services, plus three years post Master's degree experience providing clinical therapy and other mental health services, which included the application of diagnostic and treatment services. The above experience must include two years experience providing substance abuse services and one year experience coordinating/administering services.
Licensure in the Commonwealth of Virgina as a professional counselor, clinical social worker, marriage and family therapist or psychologist is required.
