Provides the Vision for Lean efforts within the manufacturing facility and leads the management team in process improvement and work redesign efforts across the entire manufacturing process. Responsible for the development of the organization in the understanding and use of Lean tools and ensures that the plant is continually moving toward the achievement of world class levels of productivity, quality and customer responsiveness.

High Energy Plant Operational Systems 4 Year Degree Advanced degree preferred 4 Year Technical Degree preferred Six Sigma Black Belt Certification preferred 5-8 yrs experience working in a lean manufacturing or a continuous improvement environment Formal training & exp with the Toyota Production System Demonstrate success in leading cross-functional teams while attaining results Demonstrated ability to independently create functional & cost effective designs that meet complex specification requirements General understanding of internal economic factors Ability to guide & mentor others Ability to train others in the use of Lean Tools Ability to direct activities of the production organization
Tasks Collaborate with both Akron and local leadership to develop and define CI plans that focus on key performance factors such as process stabilization, waste elimination, cycle time reduction and productivity improvement. Leads the plant CI resources (Specialists, Black Belts and Green Belts) to ensure that the CI plans are carried out and the objectives are met. Specifically ensures that time commitments are achieved and time lines are met with respect to the specific productivity and process improvements that have been identified. This individual must be an agent of change by identifying opportunities waste strategies and tools across the entire business, including administrative processes. Facilitate problem solving efforts to reduce cycle times and eliminate waste/cost of poor quality, value stream analysis to improve process efficiency, establish process flow, achieve measurable results and achieve breakthrough performance.
