Our highly specialized equipment is currently operating on offshore platforms and oil and gas processing vessels in many of the world’s major oceans.
We’re growing, and we are looking for an experienced Field Service Engineer with heavy equipment/machine and hydraulics experience to join our busy Support Services Department located at our corporate headquarters in Santa Barbara/Goleta, California.
Successful candidates will have the following: • Any combination of education, training and experience sufficient to demonstrate the ability to satisfactorily perform the job; a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is desirable, but not required. • 5+ years of experience troubleshooting, maintaining and repairing heavy mechanical equipment, parts, motors, assemblies and controls; experience with hydraulic machinery in the marine or offshore oil & gas industries preferred; PLC programming experience also preferred. • Broad knowledge of heavy hydraulic machine systems and sub-systems and electrical controls. • Superior customer-oriented attitude and well-developed verbal and written English communications skills. • Critical thinking, analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. • Time and project management skills. • Strong MS Office skills, including Excel and Project/ • Ability and willingness to consistently and frequently travel worldwide, sometimes on short notice, and to be away from home for extended periods of time, to work long hours, on weekends and holidays, and in harsh environments with possible exposure to extreme weather conditions. • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport and up-to-date certifications, including but not limited to Helicopter Underwater Egress Training, Basic Offshore Safety Training, OGUK offshore medical exams, required vaccinations and random drug and alcohol testing. • Local candidates will be preferred.
