Excel Personnel is a Denver based, woman owned, full service staffing firm. Our international client company is looking for a project Accountant for a TEMP-TO-HIRE, entry level opportunity. Candidates with project accounting/billing experience will receive priority, especially those with engineering/consulting experience. Clean credit and background are required due to the financial nature of the job. Hours are 8am to 5pm, Mon-Fri. This is an entry-level position, under direct supervision that will provide general financial and accounting support to the Project Delivery team.
Basic Qualifications: 0 2 years of experience. College level course work in finance or accounting preferred. Basic understanding of GAAP (General Accepted Accounting Principles). Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, must be fluent in Excel. Experience with spreadsheet development. Experience with Oracle project accounting. Understanding of contract terms, WWOA policy and NAC calculations. Good written & verbal skills. Good understanding of client services
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assists in accounting matters related to one or more projects. Ensures accounts remain in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles. Maintains basic records on employees chargeable time, invoices for materials, services, and all other costs associated with the project. Performs daily accounting activities, preparation of basic accounting statements, and financial reports. Must be familiar with a variety of accounting concepts, practices and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Project set up which may include invoicing, payment and basic terms. Billing set up per contract terms. Prepare past due notices. Research outstanding AR and short payments. Analyze WIP & report unbilled amounts. Ability to open projects as directed and handle simple WBS. Aware of and follow the WWOA policy. Basic understanding of revenue recognition
