The CT Coalition to End Homelessness seeks a motivated, highly organized professional dedicated to advancing best practices to reduce and end homelessness to fill the part-time position of Project Manager for the Greater Bridgeport Area Plan to End Homelessness. The Project Manager provides administrative and hands-on assistance to the Ten Year Plan in its mission to achieve the goals and objectives listed in the Ten-Year Plan to End Homelessness. The Project Manager will be located at the United Way of Coastal Fairfield County offices in Bridgeport, CT.

Job Description

Title: Project Manager
Status: Exempt

Purpose: The Project Manager provides administrative and hands-on assistance to the Ten Year Plan in its mission to achieve the goals and objectives listed in the Ten-Year Plan to End Homelessness.

Responsibilities: Working closely with the Steering Committee co-chairs of the Ten Year Plan the Project Manager provides administrative and technical support in the following areas:

Coordination (60%): The PM will work with the Ten Year Plan and related interest groups to broaden oversight of the 10 year planís implementation to include representatives from the business, university and government communities; plan, coordinate and facilitate a yearly planning retreat; track progress toward stated goals; support members, assist in coordination of annual events and meetings, and support the appropriate Committees toward accomplishment of their goals.

Communication (25%): Maintain the Ten Year Plan website to include regular committee updates, a calendar of events, links relating to committee work or topics relevant to the plan and links to statewide and national best practices and information; support communication with the city and other regional jurisdictions regarding implementation of the plan; prepare and submit updates and status reports to the Steering Committee and the city regarding activities and progress toward achieving the goal; research and disseminate relevant information to Steering Committee regarding effective and best practices to support work of committees and leadership; research and disseminate to the Steering Committee grant and other funding opportunities.

Organization (15%): Announce and organize monthly Steering, and subcommittee meetings, circulate agendas, minutes and other work product of Steering Committee and its subcommittees prior to meetings; provide staff support at monthly Steering Committee meetings; assure accurate record keeping on behalf of the Steering Committee; attend statewide meetings at representative of Ten Year Plan when logistically able.

Requirements: Previous relevant experience and knowledge of the region and in particular with the Homeless community and others with special needs. Experience in community organizing or community development preferred. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Strong communication and prioritization skills. Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook), problem solving, initiative, flexibility, professionalism and ability to work with minimal supervision. Valid driverís license required and daily access to personal vehicle.

Compensation: This is a part time, 20 hours maximum per week, Exempt position. Reports to: Manager, Community Impact.
